The Cuban Crocodile (Crocodylus rhombifer) is an endangered species endemic to Cuba. A successful breeding facility and popular tourist attraction exists in the Zapata swamp region of Cuba. Sadly the inital success of the breeding facility has now morphed into a deranged tourist attraction as visitors are encouraged to dine on the rare reptiles at the restaurant! The Cubans must be confident that the wild crocodile population size is high enough to be able to do this, but I hope that in due course this sort of sensory tourist attraction becomes firmly visual and not taste based!
